Ladies and Gentlemen!

My Senior Show...

Now just waiting for my business cards and I need to bind the book I printed out. Much thanks to Nate and Lindsay who were kind enough to help me hang this stuff up.

Graduation = Friday.

Holy cow.

It's Business Time

Played the business card game yesterday. At first I was using the interactive builder over at overnightprints.com, but it wasn't working quite right for me. So I decided I'd make a template in Photoshop and import it. But then my roommate yelled at me and told me to use InDesign, thus began an hour long process of my roommate spouting off directions at me and me gawking at her and whining because I am not a graphic designer and as such things like InDesign boggle me. Anyways, here are the results.

They'll have a glossy finish and rounded corners because Overnightprints is awesome like that. Only $2 more for them fancy corners? Hells yeah, I'm gonna be classy!
So yeah, hopefully they'll get here and look great, because I'm going to have 100 of each design and that means I'm stuck with them until I give them all away.

This week I hang my show. All my prints are in their frames, but a couple of them need something nailed to the back so I can actually hang them. I'm also being ambitious and printing out a book that needs to be completed by Friday, so if that and my internship don't kill me then I'll be sitting pretty for graduation.

Being a graduating MCAD student means you are tired and lonely.

I Is Artist

I sold four of my seven masks at MCAD's annual Art Sale this weekend! That's pretty 'ucking sweet! I told my roommate that made me a real artist, to which she countered "You're a real artist for selling stuff, not just creating it?"

Heheh, yeah.

I Made Art Today

And this is what I do in class instead of paying attention.

There ain't no party like my nana's tea party, hey, ho!

Here, have a link.

Check This Out

Habitual Confusion, Soleo Solere.
I've had this character around since... 2002 I think. Which is weird to think of. Somewhere floating around in the back of my car is the first ever drawing I did of him, but for now, 2004 is the best I can do. I don't know how much this can really speak for how much I've improved since then, but I think it's kind of fun to look back and see how this particular character has evolved over the years.
The rub is that I still can't tell you what he's supposed to be. I've begun to accept the term 'crazy monkey man', which seems to be the most popular reaction to the drawings I do of him.
I have a tattoo of him on my back, circa the 2006 version. It's just one of those things I figure will stick with me. He seems to get more and more 'human' every year, but I reckon he'll always maintain the red hair and stupid eyebrows.

Yup... progress.

When I'm Not Being a Real Artist

I'm making stupid drawings of my friends as glorified stick figures beating the shit out of each other because I am passive aggressive.

...Just thought I'd be honest about it. Also I reckon I needed to get some art up here. ...Even if it looks like it was drawn by a five year old.

The Introductory

I've decided to hop on the blogspot bandwagon for reasons of a non-specific nature. Something about motivating me to draw for myself.
I have less than a month to get my self together before I graduate and get flung into the world of working to pay rent and feed myself. I have a lot of work to do, and it's going to hurt, but with luck I will be all over posting updates leading up to my being thrust out into the world, and then moving on to life after art college.
Here we go.

...Yeah right, see you in like six months.
